On March 28th, 1896, several ministers and brethren from surrounding churches met in the Cash Point School building to advise and assist in the organization of a Baptist church.
After a strong and forcible sermon entitled "The Church of god", the council organized by electing the moderator and clerk. Therefore twenty-seven brethren and sisters presented themselves before the council and asked to be recognized and known as the Cash Point Baptist Church. These brothers and sisters were from the sister churches of Piney Grove Church, Union Hill Baptist Church and Kelly's Creek Baptist Church.
The new church elected a clerk and treasurer and two deacons were elected and set apart for ordination. A motion was unanimous that the name of the church would be Cash Point Missionary Baptist Church.
Cash Point became the first church organized in the new William Carey Association. Below are a few pictures of our church as it has changed and the people that have worked through the years.
